Stonewall Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale invites you to join in the celebratory uprising that will be the 2009 Stonewall Street Festival on June 20 & 21. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which is internationally recognized as the catalyst for the modern gay rights movement. We send out the call to anyone with ears to hear to join us in honoring this historic event. Check back soon and often, as this site will be continually updated as we finalize our plans.

Whether you want to express yourself as a festival goer, vendor or sponsor, you’ll find what you need to know on this website to be a part of this joyous street party. Festival goers can be part of the bash with the information on our schedule of events, parking and parade participation. Businesses will be able to take to the streets as one of our invaluable vendors or sponsors, from our detailed plans mapped out here. Comrades, heed the call for diversity by joining your fellow brothers and sisters as we take to the streets!

To perserve the history of our struggle, we are reaching out to anyone in our community that has a personal connection to the Stonewall Inn. Were you part of the Stonewall Riots in 1969? Did you frequent the Stonewall Inn during the 1960s? Did you go to or participate in the original Stonewall Pride Parade?
